Psalm 19 Astronomy Society – April 27, 2018 event @ Downtown Austin, Texas
Psalm 19 Astronomy Society is a group of amateur astronomers who enjoy hosting sidewalk astronomy events. Our mission is “Sharing the beauty and majesty of God’s universe through astronomy.” This event will be hosted by the Austin, TX chapter.
We will host our second event for 2018 on Friday April 27, 2018 at sunset near downtown Austin, Texas USA. Sunset will be approximately 8:00 PM.
We will set up our telescopes at the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge which is part of the Austin Hike and Bike Trail and spans Lady Bird Lake just east of S. Lamar Blvd. Follow this link to the map of the bridge. There is free street parking near the Zach Scott Theatre.

There will be a waxing gibbous Moon. Venus will be visible at sunset. Otherwise, none of the close-in planets will be available for viewing. We may look at the Orion Nebula depending on how low in the sky.
