Astronomy Day

Sponsored by the Astronomical Society of Nevada.

To encourage, foster, conduct and support programs on astronomy and related sciences for the education and enlightenment of the general Public.

Come by the west side of Sparks Marina and see the sun through our solar telescope. Solar flares, sun spots, and prominences will be on display.  That night Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars will be a delight to your eyes. The Orion Nebula will be your prime deep space object for the night’s viewing.

Educational programs and demonstrations on astronomical topics will be performed at the gazebo from 3:30 to 8:30 PM.  See the attached schedule.

A great variety of telescopes will be on display for use by the public.  Refractors and reflectors from 4 inches to a giant 20 inch mirror telescope can be used by the public.
